Fortnite's Creative 2.0 Experience Creates Endless Possibilities
When Fortnite came out in 2017, it set the bar high for Battle Royale genres and game developers have been trying to replicate Fortnite’s success ever since. Fortnite Creative 2.0 is finally here, allowing creators in the Fortnite community to create their own games and experiences within the client—and there are already plenty of new ones for players to enjoy. The different options are endless, and that’s one of the many reasons the community is still going strong after all these years.
The absurdly powerful set of mod tools, rolled out with Epic's new Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) just recently, has already seen the battle royale morphed into glorious renditions of Dark Souls, Silent Hill, Call of Duty, and much more. At this early stage, it feels like Fortnite Creative 2.0 is further blurring the boundaries of what Fortnite actually is. It is not just a game anymore, but more of an experience. When considering everything players are crafting inside Fortnite Creative 2.0 currently, like the in-game Travis Scott and Ariana Grande concerts of the last few years – not to mention what other games such as Roblox and Minecraft offer players elsewhere – and suddenly the word 'experience' is probably a closer fit than 'video game' is standalone. Fortnite Creative is now running on Unreal Engine 5! (Yes, the picture below is Fortnite!) Take a look at this short clip of what is possible with Unreal Engine 5 Technology!
Fortnite Creative is a great experience for all players and participants, but it also opens a unique door for branded exposures, integrations and opportunities. It is possible to create digital worlds and experiences in Fortnite for the most iconic brands in the world. Fortnite Creative allows creators and brands to join the metaverse through interactive game features. High tier games can be developed, promoted and published within 1-2 months and have the potential to reach millions of users that play creative mode regularly. It is easy to recreate environments anywhere from fully fleshed out compound buildings with interiors to large scale stadiums. On top of that, there are XP rewards added into the experience to significantly boost engagement.
Fortnite also features a front page game menu called "Discovery" where moderated and featured content can be showcased and promoted. Promotional experiences can use tags, title and a custom render while making Epic aware of it for the best chance of getting exposure. Almost any object can be recreated using custom assets currently using Primitive Shapes Gallery. Such methods can make anything from super-realistic shoes to fully fleshed out NVIDIA graphics cards. Similarly to ‘Custom Assets’, logos are available to be added to the game as well as even trailers! Take a look below at a few great examples.
